The Children’s Hostel

In connection with this noble work we thank all our generous subscribers who have helped to support during the war years, 25 girls rescued from Nazi oppression, and brought up under the loving care of the Matron, Mrs. Mahler.

Mention must be made of the good work and organising done by Mrs. L. Miller the first chairman, and her loyal band of workers who devoted so much time for their welfare, our grateful thanks are also due to Dr. J. Niman, and Dr. J. Israel, the Medical Officers, Mrs. Hood, the Accountant. Mr. H. Walker, Dentist. Mrs. Johnson, the Language Teacher, who gave all their services free.

To the Benjamin family, for the free use of their house, 5, The Avenue.

Last, but not least, to Mr Lionel Levy whose kindness and great interest will be remembered by these children for all times.
