Sgt. Philip Jacobs was mentioned in despatches, for very important reconnaissance work and devotion to duty.

Sq/Ldr. Harold Halson was mentioned in despatches in January 1946.

 

Sol. Niman, deceased

Was the son of Mrs. L. Niman of 357 Newport Road, who tragically met his death through enemy action, on August Bank Holiday Monday 1942, when Middlesbrough experienced a sharp blitz, during lunch hour. Previous to his death, he had joined the RAF and was waiting to be called up.
