At
last I am in a position to confirm that the final accounts have been
approved by the Charity Commissioners and that the current
registration as a charity was cancelled as from 10th April 2002. As
promised I enclose a summary of the accounts, showing a realisation of
the assets and the agreed charitable payments.
When I wrote to you last August I
gave you the names and telephone numbers of Messrs Lewis and Sterrie
of the Newcastle Chevra Kadisha. I omitted to give the name and
address of the secretary of the Representative Council of North East
Jewry to whom draft wording on tombstones should be submitted. He is

When I last wrote I had suggested

consecration of Lionel Simon’s tombstone will take place at
Middlesbrough Cemetery on 16th June 2002 at 2.00pm.
