Kehilat Middlesbrough Newsletter No 14 July 2002

Kehilat Middlesbrough congratulates Miriam Margolies on the award of the OBE by HM The Queen in the 2002 New Year Honours List.

Most of our readers are connected to the internet and consequently see these Newsletters on our website. We realise, however, that not everyone has access to the website and that those who do not, need a hard copy of the Newsletter. Some thirty of our readers fall into this category.

What our readers may not know is that the printing and distribution of these hard copies is undertaken by David Niman, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank David for his generous contribution and support.

Delighted the website is back. I chatted with about it with Bernard Bookey at the stone setting for my mother in March.

I'm sad to report that my cousin Arnold Breckner passed away suddenly in Middlesbrough in early March. He'll be greatly missed by his family and friends, including me.

One correction: In the photograph of me and my family, my wife Vicky is not shown. These are my four children. L to R; Back Row: Leah (now 25), Me, Sarah (now 20); Front Row: Esty (now 5) and Benjamin (now almost 12).

We had a wonderful wedding* in the ruins of Ceasarea on 24th March 2002: Tanya Smollan to Oren Kaplan, son of Mendel and Jill Kaplan of Johannnesburg and Jerusalem.
